Oklahoma Voters to Decide State Question 833
A state question regarding public infrastructure will be on the ballot next week. If passed, state question 833 would allow cities to create public infrastructure districts. In order to establish a district, 100 percent of property owners within the proposed boundaries would need to sign a petition. Then it would go to the city council for a vote. If approved, a board of trustees would have the power to issue bonds for public improvement and infrastructure projects. The bonds would be funded by a property tax up to one hundred dollars per one hundred thousand -that the property is worth. The proposition will be up for vote across the state next Tuesday, and is one of two states that questions this election cycle.
