UCO October Library Book Sale

The Max Chambers Library of UCO held its monthly book sale on Tuesday, October 21, from 8 AM to 4 PM on the library’s basement floor, selling most of its books for $1.

The Chamber Library’s Friends of the Library group, better known as FOL at UCO, hosts its book sale every month from August to November in the fall semester, and January through April in the spring semester every year except for June and July.

FOL is a membership-based organization founded in 2003 that supports the Chambers Library and its mission to serve as the intellectual and cultural hub of the UCO campus.

The main purpose of the monthly book sale at the library is to raise funds to support the FOL of UCO.

“Funds raised from the sales go towards supporting FOL initiatives, including prizes for student contests, and free food and beverage events the library hosts during Quiet and Finals weeks each semester,” says Jeff Musslewhite, the Max Chambers Library Coordinator.

“The funds are also to purchase new academic research materials through the annual Faculty Book and Materials grant awards in the Spring semester,” Jeff finished.

The monthly book sale is not only open to students, but to all book lovers across the Edmond and Oklahoma City community.

“The vast majority of books and other items in the sales originate from donations made to the FOL by university faculty, staff, students, and generous members of the Edmond and Oklahoma City Metro area community,” Jeff later stated.

The next book sale will be held on Nov. 17 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Max Chambers Library.
