Women’s Cross Country Wraps Up Third Race of the Season.
The University of Central Oklahoma women’s cross country team finished 19th at Oklahoma State University’s annual Cowboy Jamboree this past Friday morning.
The Bronchos completed their third race of the season. Freshman Gabija Pukstas has led Central Oklahoma in all three of their races so far. Pukstas finished the 6k with a time of 25:09.

Pukstas said that she is excited to see her work pay off in her races. “I am so blessed to have the ability to compete. My faith is a big part of my running journey and I owe God all the glory for anything I accomplish. I am very grateful for the season I have had so far, but I know I still have more to give and want to continue putting in the work.” She said her goal is to add her name under the UCO top 20 All-Time list.
This was the second weekend of back-to-back races for Central Oklahoma. UCO also finished 19th in the 5k race at Missouri Southern State’s annual Southern Stampede last Saturday morning.
The women’s cross country team will take a three week break before competing in their last regular season race. This race is scheduled for Saturday Oct. 11 at the Old Glory Gallup in Fort Worth, Texas.
