Volleyball Finishes Final Home Stand with Two More Wins
The University of Central Oklahoma women’s volleyball team finished its final regular-season home stand this past weekend, collecting two more Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) wins against Newman and Pittsburg State.

No. 7 Central Oklahoma improved to 25-3 overall and 11-3 in the MIAA.
The two-game home stand began Thursday evening with UCO hosting Newman for senior night. The Bronchos added Newman as their 20th sweep of the season, beating the Jets 3-0 and collecting their fifth straight win. Central won the sets 25-21, 25-13, 25-17.
The seniors who were celebrated on Thursday night put on a dominant performance.
Senior Sydney Huck led the team in kills, collecting 11 in the only two sets she played in. Senior Lindsey Houron dominated on offense with 36 assists, and senior Kaitlyn Parrott led the defense with 21 digs.
Seniors Mikiah Perdue, Kedron Burk, and Lari Migliorino also added to the team’s stellar performance. Perdue had seven kills, Burk collected five kills and three total blocks, and Migliorino finished with one kill and two blocks for the Bronchos.
Central Oklahoma completed its final home game of the season Friday night against Pittsburg State, grabbing a nail-biting fifth set victory to collect the win over the Gorillas.
UCO defeated Pitt State 15-25, 25-16, 25-20, 20-25, 15-6, making this their sixth straight win.
Junior Riley Roberts gained a new career-high 29 digs while also collecting four kills, four assists, and one assisted block. Parrott also served six aces, a new career-high for her as well, and added 25 attacks and five assists in her stand-out performance for the Bronchos. Sydney Huck added to the fire, knocking down her personal best 18 kills along with three assisted blocks.
Houron finished the five-set match with 41 assists, 23 digs, and three kills. The senior setter currently remains second in UCO’s all-time assist list with 5,079.
Central Oklahoma ends its regular season this Friday evening when the team travels to No. 6-ranked Washburn. UCO will play one match before then, on Thursday night in Emporia, Kansas, when the Bronchos take on Emporia State.
The MIAA Volleyball Championships will begin Thursday, Nov. 20, in St. Joseph, Mo.
