UCO Women’s Soccer Fell Short in the 2025 MIAA Tournament Championship During Overtime

The University of Central Oklahoma women’s soccer team completed its last game of the season with a 2-1 loss in overtime against Missouri Western in the 2025 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Tournament Championship finals on Saturday, November 15th, in Wichita, Kansas.

The first half of the game started with an early goal by Missouri Western at the 6th minute of the game. The Bronchos came back shortly after, with a goal at the 18th minute mark by freshman midfielder Jane Lockhart to finish the first half of the game in a 1-1 tie. 

The second half was a scoreless battle, causing the teams to go into overtime with two 10-minute halves. Towards the end of the first half of overtime, with only 43 seconds left, Missouri Western scored. The second half of overtime remained scoreless, leaving the championship in Missouri Western’s possession. 

UCO consumed a total of 11 shots on goal, while Missouri Western outshot the Bronchos, consuming a total of 13 shots on goal. 

Central Oklahoma finished the 2025 season with a record of 10-6-5 overall and 6-3-3 in the MIAA.
