The Cho’s Fell to the Bearcats 38-16 on the Road.
The University of Central Oklahoma men’s football team traveled to Maryville, Missouri this past Saturday, where they lost to unranked Northwest Missouri, 38-16.

The Bronchos gave up a touchdown early to start the game. UCO responded very quickly with the ball and did not disappoint, with sophomore Dev Mathews scoring the first touchdown of the game. The Bronchos defense held the Bearcats to 7 the whole first quarter.
Starting off the second quarter, the Bearcats were quick to score again with a 25-yard pass from Chris Ruhnke to Te’shaun Porter.
Going into the 2nd half the Bronchos looked tired, but they kept fighting. Midway through the 3rd quarter, the Bearcats scored 2 touchdowns back-to-back to put the lead at 28-10.
The Bronchos lacked a healthy player depth in the last half of the game. With so many players getting injured, ultimately UCO couldn’t keep up with the Bearcats and fell short.
Central Oklahoma is now 2-2 on their season and 2-1 in conference play, making this their first Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) loss this season.
Head coach Adam Dorrell previously coached and won national championships at Northwest Missouri. Dorrell played for Northwest Missouri State from 1994-1997. He then coached for the Bearcats from 2004-2016, winning 3 National Championships and 5 Conference championships.
Dorrell has an all time record of 117-54
This Saturday the UCO Bronchos will host The University of Central Missouri who is also 2-2. The Central Missouri head coach Josh Lamberson was once the offensive coordinator for coach Adam Dorrell, before taking the head coaching job in 2022.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Chad Richison Stadium.
