Saddle Up, UCO Homecoming is Around the Corner

The University of Central Oklahoma’s annual Homecoming is Oct. 18- 25, with events every day of that week leading up to the football game with Northeastern State University.

The theme this year is“ Saddle Up Central.” There are multiple events every day starting on Oct. 19, most with a cowboy-themed twist. Some of these events are:

  • 10/19 Bronchos, Boots, and Boogies, a line dancing event from 7-10 p.m. on Buddy’s Lawn
  • 10/20 Hats off Homecoming, a hat decorating event from 11-1 p.m. at The Blue Tent at Broncho Lake
  • 10/21 Freshen Up Cowboy, a create your own air freshener event from 11-1 p.m. at The Blue Tent at Broncho Lake
  • 10/22 Chos Triva from 4-6 p.m. in the NUC Ballroom A
  • 10/23 The Homecoming Stroll down hosted by the National Pan-Hellenic Council from 4-7 p.m. in the D2 Room, Ayers Private Dining
  • 10/24 YELL is an annual event from 8-10 p.m. at the Chad Richardson Stadium
  • 10/25 UCO Football v. Northeastern State starting at 7 p.m. at the Chad Richardson Stadium

To help set everything up, the homecoming executives sent out applications to anyone interested in joining the homecoming staff.

Students have shared their excitement for this year’s homecoming, including UCO sophomore Shemani Scaffe, who said, “ I’m actually really excited about homecoming this year, and I’m really looking forward to the events that student and Greek life are gonna be holding.” 

Homecoming at UCO has been a tradition for the last 108 years, and throughout those years, it has been able to bring students, faculty, and family together to celebrate UCO’s development and community.
