Reality Recap: The Traitors Season Four Intensifies in Episodes Four and Five

Following the premiere week, “The Traitors” season four continued with episodes four and five, released Jan. 15 on Peacock.

With one traitor already eliminated, the remaining contestants entered this stage of the competition with increased suspicion and uncertainty as the game intensified.

Episode Four: “Cut the Head off the Snake”

Episode four begins with the reveal of the third murder of the season. After being left tied to trees overnight, the contestants arrive at breakfast, where it is revealed that Caroline Stanbury (“The Real Housewives of Dubai”) has been murdered. Her elimination removes a socially influential player from the game, reinforcing the unpredictability of the traitors’ decisions.

Later that day, host Alan Cumming introduces a competition set in the woods surrounding the castle. Contestants search for fire lances and shields while working to add money to the prize pot. Shields earned during the challenge provide immunity from that night’s murder, leaving several players vulnerable heading into the evening.

At the roundtable discussion, suspicion turns toward Tiffany Mitchell (“Big Brother”). After a series of accusations, the group votes to banish Mitchell from the competition. Upon her exit, she reveals that she was a faithful, resulting in another incorrect vote by the group.

Episode Five: “If You’re Gonna Come For Me, I’ll Finish You”

Episode five opens with the next breakfast reveal. Monét X Change (“RuPaul’s Drag Race”) has been murdered overnight. Her elimination follows her earlier comments questioning Lisa Rinna’s behavior, suggesting that vocal suspicion can make faithful players targets.

The next challenge tasks the contestants with retrieving missing statues to restore a fountain on the castle grounds. Successful completion adds money to the prize pot and introduces another shield-related twist that emphasizes cooperation. While the group completes the task, the impact of the shields on the night’s events is not immediately revealed.

During the roundtable in episode five, attention shifts to Michael Rapaport (actor). His confrontational approach during discussions draws criticism from multiple players. The group votes to banish Rapaport, who then reveals he was a faithful, marking another setback for the faithful.

Episodes four and five highlight the continued difficulty of identifying traitors within the group. Despite increased confidence following an earlier successful banishment, the faithful struggle to maintain momentum as miscalculations and strategic murders continue to shape the game.
