New SNAP Guidelines Begin

Oklahoma’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or better known as SNAP, has new restrictions taking place that started on February 15th. This changes the selections people can make at grocery stores using their SNAP benefits. This change was originally going to take place on January 1st, but was delayed so grocery stores could update their software and POS systems. The items you can no longer buy include, but are not limited to, candy, including chocolate bars, hard candies, and gummy candy, and also including soft drinks, including soda, sports drinks, energy drinks, and juice that’s not 100% juice.
