Homecoming Bronze and Blueberry Faculty Breakfast
The University of Central Oklahoma celebrated its 14th annual Bronze and Blueberry breakfast today for faculty and staff.
The event was a way to express gratitude and celebrate faculty and staff during Homecoming, said UCO President Todd Lamb. At the breakfast, the faculty and staff homecoming royalty are crowned.
To be a part of the faculty and staff royalty court is a compliment, and it illustrates the relationship and commitment the faculty and staff have to the University, said President Lamb.
“Their peers take time to vote for them and say this is who we want to represent us.”
Before the event, faculty and staff had the chance to nominate their peers for the Royalty Court. After the initial vote, a narrowed-down list was created, comprising 10 nominees, said Homecoming Traditions Director Emilee Lian.

The winners received an alma mater plaque and additional recognition.
“The morning was filled with a good breakfast, entertainment, and community,” said Doherty.
She continued, “I love that it’s something specifically for faculty and staff, and we all get to come out of our offices and be with each other.”
Administrative Assistant, Chantel Wolff, said her favorite part about the event is getting a chance to mingle and see staff that she doesn’t get to interact with every day.
Said Wolff, “To be in an activity instead of the office, it’s just fun.”
Faculty and staff also had the chance to decorate their offices as part of Homecoming.
The winners were announced at breakfast.

This year’s Breakfast of Pancakes, sausage, and juice was catered by Chartwells. President Lamb said this breakfast highlighted and said thank you to all staff and faculty.
In addition to the breakfast, there was coffee from Okie Bean, a Kendra Scott table, a raffle off goodie baskets, and homecoming merch for sale.
There was a photo booth and a photographer for attendees to capture the moment.
Buddy Broncho could also be found at the event, hanging out. The morning ended with country music and the chance for attendees to join in on line dancing.
