On Sept. 24, one of the Christian men who appeared on campus earlier this week returned and was greeted by UCO student protestors.

Sebastian Bryan stood on UCO’s campus for the third time this week, shouting and debating his Christian and political beliefs with UCO students. Some of the topics Bryan has discussed are the LGBTQ+ community, false prophets, and divorce.

Two UCO students, Kannaika Scott and Aidan Drain, decided that if Bryan were to return to campus, they would sit by him with signs letting UCO students know that campus is a safe space.

“I posted in my dorm hall group chat that I was going to be counter-protesting, and it blew up,” said Scott.

Drain said that their goal with the counter protest overall is to “get him out of here, so that our students can have peace and feel safe.”

A sentiment echoed by the other student counter-protestors.

Cori Hart, who witnessed Bryan preach with a group on Monday, shared that they joined the protest because “I saw a friend out here and I thought, let’s go over here and see what I can do.”

Bryan, also known as Brother Sebastian, does not belong to any specific church or organization. He has continued to return to campus because ” I prayed about this and was called to UCO.”

Bryan continued that his goal when preaching is for “people to consider they are guilty before the lord Jesus Christ and that they can actually get the remedy to get their life around.”

As the day has gone on, Bryan and the students have dispersed.
