Guestroom Records Opens New Edmond Location

Guestroom Records opened a new location on Oct. 4 in Edmond.

The store, located at 180 W. 15th ST., is the company’s fourth location, joining their other shops in Oklahoma City, Norman, and Louisville, Kentucky.

It started as a small door-to-door business, where the founders were taking orders and delivering records once a month. After gaining popularity, they decided to open their first storefront in Norman in July 2003.

“They started down in Norman, and there was a lot of interest that they moved to a bigger location and expanded to Oklahoma City and later opened a store in Louisville, Kentucky,” said Marnie Benson, manager of the new Edmond location.

“People were always asking when we were going to expand more. I personally live up here in Edmond, so it just sort of worked out, and we found this great spot.” Benson continued.

Guestroom Records sells a variety of vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, and other music merchandise. The store also buys used collections and offers cash for quality vinyl and CDs.

“We try really to build a community and bring in interesting things that you don’t get to see a lot of. We carry a little bit of everything, pretty much all across the board, price range-wise. Rock, punk, metal, hip hop, jazz, all of the above,” Benson said.

The new Edmond store follows the same model as the other locations, offering both new releases and used records. It’s open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Guestroom also hosts listening parties and events at their stores. Information about upcoming events and new arrivals can be found on the store’s Instagram page @guestroom.
