Hi, my name is Zachary Sexton, and I am a news producer and on-air anchor for UCentral Media at the University of Central Oklahoma. I currently serve as both a social media anchor and main anchor, where I produce digital content, deliver live and recorded news, and operate in a fast-paced newsroom environment. My experience spans both behind-the-scenes production and on-camera reporting, giving me a well-rounded background in broadcast journalism. I am actively seeking opportunities as a news producer or news anchor at a professional news station. I am passionate about journalism and committed to integrity, accuracy, and responsible storytelling in today’s media landscape. I thrive in deadline-driven environments where teamwork, adaptability, and clear communication are essential. I bring strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, developed through both my media roles and my experience serving as fraternity president in 2025. In that role, I led a large team, managed operations, and made high-pressure decisions—skills directly transferable to a professional newsroom setting. Outside of journalism, I am a competitive BMX racer, training three to six times per week. This commitment has strengthened my discipline, consistency, and mental toughness. I’m also proud to be a grandparents’ boy and value structure my strict sleep schedule helps me stay focused, energized, and prepared for the demands of the industry.
