Women’s Soccer Won a Pair on the Road this Past Weekend
The University of Central Oklahoma women’s soccer team won two more conference games over the weekend on the road.

The Bronchos defeated Northeastern State 3-0 at DeLoche Field in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, on Thursday evening. The game went scoreless in the first half, but the heat started to rise in the second half. At the 51st minute, forward Emma Fioretti scored to give UCO the 1-0 lead against the Riverhawks. Forward Caleah Carter completed a goal at the 65th minute mark, and finally at the 82nd minute, defender Evelyn Sydnes shut the game out with a final goal and ended the game 3-0 for the Bronchos. Goalkeeper Avery Bass had a total of 3 saves, contributing to the game with a clean score for the team.
“Everyone on the team has been playing for each other, and it has been showing,” midfielder Rebekah George said.
UCO consumed a total of 15 shots on goal, as NSU only had 9.
After a couple of days off, the Bronchos took a trip to Claremore, Oklahoma, and won 1-0 against Rogers State at Soldier Field on Sunday afternoon.
The first half of the game was also scoreless for both teams, but the Bronchos had 12 shots on goal and RSU only had 4. In the second half of the game at the 70th minute, midfielder Rebekah George led the team with the winning goal to end the intense match.
“It was their senior night, so emotions were high on both sides. We knew going into it that it was going to be a tough game and that we’d have to earn that win,” George said.
UCO had led a total of 20 shots on goal from 90 minutes of the game, while RSU only had 7.
Central Oklahoma’s current record in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) is 5-2-3, and they are currently ranked fifth in the MIAA standings.
Winning this game was important for the Bronchos, as they now have an opportunity to host the first game of the 2025 MIAA Tournament.
The Bronchos will be at home this weekend, where they will host Pittsburg State on Halloween at Tom Thompson Field with the game scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
